Positions
Each planet sits in a sign and at a degree. The Moon changes sign about every two and a half days; Pluto stays in the same one for years.
Aspects
An aspect is a notable angle between two planets: conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition. The smaller the orb, the more exact the aspect.
Retrograde motion
Seen from Earth, a planet sometimes seems to move backwards through the zodiac. It is an effect of perspective, which astrology reads as a time of turning back.
